First Ministry
• Jesus was born here on earth, in Bethlehem. This is his homeland.
• We know this for certain because of Luke 2:11 “For today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
• Jesus lived a very humble life; he had no riches, did not live in a palace, was not kingly.
• Jesus behaved as a suffering servant.
• Jesus was regarded as the Lamb of God (John 1:29), he was sacrificed as an innocent lamb to take away our sins.
• Jesus taught amazing lessons to his disciples and to thousands of others. His teachings changed many lives as they did with Peter who went from being a coward to being brilliantly brave.
• He healed the sick and did many miracles. It is said that if all the things Jesus did were written down – the world could not contain all the books that would be written. (John 21:25).
• Jesus was put to death- an innocent man – by those who were enemies of God and enemies of
God’s incredible Plan for all who choose to obey – to live in peace and happiness.
Second Ministry
• Jesus returns as our victorious Messiah, the Son of the living God, not meek and humble like a lamb.
• He will return with great power and authority like a lion. And he is coming back TO STAY.
• He returns as a King with all the majesty of royal splendor.
• He will put a stop to all wickedness, disobedience and rebellion.
• He will be welcomed and greeted with shouts of joy and great rejoicing.
• Jesus will not die! He will never die! He will be UNABLE to die!
• He will bring with him –by resurrection from the dead-all those who were God’s people who had died before he returned.
• “Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name , so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.” (Phil. 2:11)
• He will introduce the Kingdom of God for which we have longed and prayed. It is God’s Plan to bring Peace & Happiness.
What should we Do?
• We do not know when Jesus will return. THAT he will return is certain.
• We must be alert and aware. We must watch and expect Jesus.
• We must be prepared by understanding what Scripture says the world will be like before Jesus comes.
• We must live each day in a way that Jesus and his Father would approve of, being faithful, honest, obedient and ready to meet King Jesus.
• We must long for and love the return of the one who gave his life for us. (2 Tim. 2:4)
• We are not left to our imaginations and our fears.
• We have been told where to find wisdom and in finding it – we shall please Father and Son. (Ps. 90:12) “Teach us to make the most of our time, so that we may grow in wisdom.”
